Help!!!

I have a problem. I need to renovate my living room before the summer is over, but thats not the problem. The problem is I have a fully set up 75 gallon reef tank with a 40 gallon refugium that I've had for 4 years in the way. I don't know what to do. If I cant figure out how to move it I will have to sell everything. What should I do?

Well, to be honest, I think this is the perfect time for you to break it down and relocate it for wherever you have to and do a big cleaning job. I see alot of either cyno or algae in there, so now is a good time to do a huge cleaning job. So, figure out another room to out it in, break her down, set her back up after you scrub out the tank with some razor blades and rinse the sand, then when you finish your living room, move it back.

It's not hard moving a tank. I have done it well over 30 times from mine and my friends tanks.

If you take all of the live stuff out and put it into totes with power-heads running, you should be able to move the tank and set it back up in a matter of hours.
Easier with the help of a reefing buddy - you can always put a post up here asking for help like that and someone will step up Offering beer/pizza to your helpers will make that list grow..you might even end up with a group!

They might even be able to bring extra bins so you can hang onto most of your water.

The most important thing is being prepared before you start!

Yea honestly that tank is in pretty bad shape I would get 100% new water ready before you start. Bag up all your fish and livestock put them in a styro cooler or just put in rubber maid bins w/ heater but personally it's much easier to re acclimate in bags. Keep all your rock in bins/buckets. Rinse the sand thoroughly in new saltwater clean the hell out of your tank and equipment then set that bad boy back up. As far as acclimation back int othe system. My method NEVER fails. I have never lost a fish or coral using this method.

Float for 15-20 mins.
Add about 1/2 a cup of the new tank water to the bag.
Wait another 15 mins.
Add some more water,wait another 15 mins or so then take the item out and put it back in the tank.
