Woke up this morning to find a bunch of little starfish on the sides of my tank. Is this a good thing?

Found somthing that doesn't look like a start more like a cirle with a flat top. Sorry for the poor pic quality. Any idea what this is?

I have this algea on a bunch of my LR. Not sure if its algea because they all grow off a white spine.

Thank you Patrick for making me aware of the fact that the algae in question is haig algae. I've been reading up on how to remove hair algae and wont your oppinions. Here is the equiptment i have,
Wavepoint 2x12k and acitin 2x54w
100lbs of LR
100 or soo lbs of sand
tank is draining into a DIY sock made from Bigals filter floss
have cheato with pods in the sump
and return pump
(been running with no skimmer for a few weeks now)
mariland powerhead in the tank
Fish
2 clowns
1 banded goby
(getting a mandarin tonight)
bunch of blue leg hermits
lots of snails

Just tested my tank with AFI test kit.
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0
Ca 420
KH 9

I bought about 100 lbs of the live rock now in the tank Sunday of this week. The rock has alot of life and coraline on them so i took out most of the rock that was in the tank before to make room. I haven't had a hair algae problem prior to adding this rock. How would you reccomend I go about removing this algae? I tried brishing it with a bruch for a few minutes but didn't understand the point becuase that would just be removing the algea from the rocks but it would still be in the tank. no? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

They are asterina starfish and are not really that harmful imo; however some may say otherwise. I have not had any issues with them... But some people have.

First one is an asterina starfish, they're common in most aquariums. The second picture looks like a stomatella to me, they're harmless algae eaters much like turbo snails, and the green algae is hair algae, one of the most common algae in the hobbies. If I missed anything try and take clearer pictures next time, only so much I can work with, lol.

Thanks for the help guys!

Patrick, sorry for the crappy pictures!

The hair algae is on a bunch of rocks I just bought from someone. Should I worry about it spreading to the rest of my tank? Should I buy a Sea Hare or something (any other know predators the hair algae?) that will eat it? I've read up on how some tanks become entirely consumed with this stuff.
