i dont know about these red sea test kits

charlie and i tested the red sea kits with the salifert kits mag,alk and cal and if you check the parameters with the top of the plunger its way way off.but if you use the long extension on top of the plunger we were right on..is that what your supposed to go by with these kits?

I don't entily understand what you are saying, but the bottom of the plunger (the part that is against the liquid/air bubble you suck up) should be the end that you set at 1.0 mL, just like with the salifert kits.

Sounds like you're getting more accurate results by not following the recommended instructions. Why bother with Red Sea if you are using Salifert?

i dont have the salifedrt charlie does.i wanted to try it out because people on here said how great they were and alot cheaper then salifert.if im going to go with the plunger part of the vile im going to be way off.unless im doing something wrong these are worth nothing but a cool holder for the syringe

charlie i watched the video we did the same thing as the video.i contacted red sea and they said sounds like the salifert test kit was wrong.

chrlie found out what we did wrong..talked to a guy and he asked if we cleaned out the vials before we started.i told him no..he said that can have a effect on outcome of test..retesting right now

i dont know man..its reading alk is9.8 DKH..calcium isnot even on the chart so over 500 and mag isnt even on the chart reading over 1600ppm .not even close to what we had on tuesday with salifert.we had alk at 8.0...calcium at 450 and mag at 1380

I don't know how accurate any of these kits are. I tested Elos vs. Salifert Alk. kit and there is a significate difference. The Salifert wasn't even accurate when tested against their own sample, what a joke. I tested against their sample 2x and both times it was wrong. I didn't have enough to test the Salifert test sample with my Elos kit. The Calcium test kits read the same however.
