so a few days ago we were informed that there is "cloriform bacteria" in our main water. they are treating it with chlorine in the water, and said within a few days the water will be fine again. im scared to run my RODI unit with high chlorine levels they are using to treat the cloriform bacteria. i mean if i turn the water on, it has a very light slime coat to it and a light smell or bleachy/chlorine smell. could this really mess up my media in my RODI unit? would my rodi water even be safe still? i know the unit is to take out chlorine and all but what about with my issuee?im probably not going to take the chance. my garbage can is empty right now and i have no top off water, and need to fill it but scared because of this issue. should my RODI water be ok, or should i just go buy water for the time being? the hardware store down the road from me sells 5 gallon "national spring water". should i just buy that for top off water for now til this issue is fixed?
just to note, my RODI unit has not been used since treatment started. while bacteria was in water, it may have been, not 100% sure how long ago the issue happened but my unit has been off for a week now and treatment started 2 days ago...
