NY Aquarium in bk

Any aquarium is worth it. Been their but if i had to choose i would prob say the aquarium in LI. Look for the one in NJ too, they have a huge shark tank you can walk through. Think its in camden nj or something.

Im planing on going to the one in nj sometime next week or the following. Its just alittle far but its worth it. (2hrs away)

I've been to both. The one in LI is quite a bit farther for you, but it is way better then the bkln one. I used to live in Manhattan and I still rather going to the LI one. Once you passed exit 30s-40s on LIE, the drive is very pleasant. Smooth going traffic all the way. Besides, you can do some shopping on the outlet at the same town on your way back. :)

save your money.your talking about the coney island aquarium right..atlantis is way better.i think you can take the ferry and cut your time in half.if i were you i would make a day or even a weekend out of it.you have the aquarium,outlet stores and splish splash all with 5 minutes of each other

I was there 2 weeks ago and it was pretty good fromt he last time I went two years ago. They expanded with a coral section by the main entrance. A bit pricey for a small place though.

While Atlantis is my favorite aquarium, I attended an affair at the aquarium in Coney Island a few weeks ago -it was at night and we pretty much had free run of the place.

I must say I expected it to be awful after reading some threads here on MR but I found the exact opposite to be true, it was a great place to visit!
Their new Reef display was very nice (colonies, definitely not frags..) and they have some great exhibits that kids & adults would enjoy as well. It was clean, they have interesting creatures there. There is a seal show and we had to tear ourselves away from the Walrus exhibit.

Is it a big place - no, but well worth visiting.

???? The NY public aquarium is selling frags? I find this HIGHLY unlikely.

Me too, I saw no indication of this. It's an aquarium, not a store...

+3 wtf are you talking about?

I went to the bk aquarium a year ago, it sucked and it was filled w/ dirt bags that were stinking up the place. Especially by the shark cave section it was gross and I almost puked. When did they supposedly expand and put more corals? Atlantis is definitely better but a mission away. I heard Atlanta has a sick Aquarium.
