Rubble in back of jbj all in one

just curious if anyone here who has a nano has rubble in the back chambers? i have had a few pieces back there since i set up tank. i am starting to wonder if these 3-4 pieces of rubble have any use/importance. i see a bunch of detrius back there. i am thinking about cleaning back chamber and getting rid of those pieces. the pieces are around 2-3 ".

JC, more rock = more filtration. I would, however, remove once a year to clean out detrious and them put it back to maintain the filtration.

Is your back chamber lit? I think that rubble in the back chamber is more of a ditrius collector than a biological filter. IMO some Cheato (with light) and a good cleaning of that chamber every month will do more for your water quality than 3-4 pieces of Rubble

Can you possibly incorporate those pieces of rubble into your current aqua-scaping so you don't lose the benefit of the extra filtration but make it easier to clean the detritus out of that chamber?

i think thats would i will do.. im going to clean out back and (rinse?) rubble in saltwater and place in DT

Yes, rinse them just enough to get the detritus off and then add to the DT
