Ok, another question for MR.
My 75 gallon has been up for about 4 months now. Got about 90-100lbs of live rock from another member and I've seen crazy amounts of pink and purple coraline growth all over my tank. I had 2 mariland 1200 circulation pumps running until a week or so ago. I took one out because I woke up 2 days in a row to find the same pump facing the sand blowing it all over the tank.
Today I picked up 2 pajama cardinals and a hippo tang thats about an inch long. After acclimating them by drip for about 45 minutes I dropped them in my tank. Right when they got in the tang got stuck to the side of the circulation pump. I immediately turned it off. Tang is fine but after a few minutes of watching the tank with the pump off For the first time all my other fish (pair of clarki clowns, mandarin, sleep banded goby) came out of my LR together and started swimming around. Before tonight my goby stayed mostly in the sand and LR. Mandarin came out for feeding and every now and then to pick on some rock, and my clowns would come out but alway dart in and out of the rock-work; never to swim around the tank.
I think my flow was to strong? I don't want to turn the pump back on because my fish clearly didn't like it. But, I dont want to keep it of because I need flow.
Comments appreciated!
