lol that varies from tank to tank, you should measure the width of the inside of your tank. Generally, for tanks that have the width of 12-13 in i but the plexiglass that is 36x 13.

I have designed many diy sumps, and built for other members here. All the baffles are determined by what your skimmers water level is set to run at, and the size of your return pump. If you can tell me those specs, I would love to design one for you guys. On another note, I know that other members here have used acrylic baffles with glass tanks, IMO, this is not the proper way of putting them together. Glass with Glass. And acrylic with Acrylic. They do sell some type of adhesive that can bond Glass to Acrylic, but I have never used it.

as far as which skimmer to get i am not sure, but their is a lot of members here that have experiences with different brands. and for a return pump it would depend on if you would like internal or external, and how much flow you would like. everyone has a different flow curve in their tanks, it could range from 5x-10x turnover. I personally like a slower flow rate in my sump. IMO theslower the flow rate thru sump, the better contact time thru skimmer, less noise, and less micro bubbles getting back to dt.

Oh richie how i feal so insulted ....... As i have a 10gallon glass sump with acrylic baffles lol i did my own as well guys and i have a carpentry shop with all the michines to cut my own baffles but i do agree that sump materials should remain uniform. But i made mine and used aga silicone from petland and my tanks doing great so its just a simple sump and a working idea but if you got richie doing it , the end result is your gonna love it!.
