I'm using Galaxy 250W select a watt ballasts set on the HQI setting.

Is that equivalent to using a 250w magnetic hqi ballast?

From what I have read, it is not equivalent to running a true M80 magnetic ballast, but it is closer to it than on the standard 250W setting.

I tried many different brands. I am now using ESV. My favorite prior to ESV was Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

Thanks Nate. Yes, I added the Garf Grunge to this tank also. I find that it seeds the sandbed with a tremendous amount of life.

Thanks! Yes, I switched my T5's to VHO's for actinic supplementation. I am using the UVL Super Actinic R bulbs (420nm). I love the flourescence that the corals display under these bulbs more so than the T5's. I previously had 2 5' ATI Blue Plus and 1 5' ATI Purple Plus and now I have 2 6' VHO's.
