Hermit Crab Changing Shells.

Hey gang check this out, Just a while ago I was inspecting my 40 long, that I use to hold coral for members here and noticed that 1 of my hermit crabs was fighting with another one, so I grabed my cheap blackberry and took some footage.
It turned out that 1 of them wanted the other ones shell, after he took the shell, the smaller one was exposed and started to run for cover, he found another shell real fast, but turned it was too small, then started to look for another shell.

lol. yes that is common. u should put a few bigger shells in there once a while for them to change to.

I have over a dozen different sizes in the tank even bigger then the ones they are in now

his legs are hairy, but he has some pinch from his claws.

Wow that's too funny of a clip. I know they fight all the time for the shells but never seen it.. Thanks for the clips..and as for Hurcules that s**t is huge..how long have u had him.

Hercules, was donated to me about 18 months ago by JohhnyJ, and he has molted 8 times since, he has tripled in size since then, he can consume a silverside that is 4" in length every week, and it is getting harder and harder to find a shell for him.

Yes it still the same shell, he has his old shell in their and he keeps going back and forth, now i have to find a shell for him, maybe i'll put a wtb thread.
