Well thirty5, what do YOU think its worth?

Since you have zoas, people tend to count the polyps and give prices per polyp.

So lets say you have 10 polyps. And you want to sell for 2 dollars a polyp. boom. 20 dollars.

Unlike Angelo who needs help (allegedly) with math i know how to multiple. But I have no idea what price per polyp is :) that was my whole point of my question. I may frag them down smaller cause there is no way that someone is going to pay $80 for a frag on a plug.

I personally would never pay more than 30 for a frag I dont care what crazy name.it is .also when selling something I tend to almost interview the person to make sure it has a fighting chance to live in there system .they are Living creatures and to me finding them. A Good home is worth more than making a ton of money .I would much rather make a little.less and know I did the right thing for the coral .that's just me though maybe I'm to honest lol

just ask somebody you can trust! a senior member or even a moderator may be able to help you out, but use good judgment cause you will see some people selling the same thing another person is selling and they could be lost in a 50 dollar difference so you may not know which way to go!! also ask the guys who tend to give away stuff on mr often, these guys tend to value the hobby more than the dollar!! and yes i do believe that a piece of coral is worth more than this nations dollar lol.

check out the market place to see if anyone is selling anythign similiar and use those pries. Worse case scenario, just price it higher than you think and reduce it little by little. Careful fragging zoas though, some of them dont tend to handle fragging well.

I have fragged before, and have not had many problems. I would make sure that they are fully healed before I try to sell them.

I did what you said and looked around, not sure I could get the same price for the size of the frags I have. Even if I could, I don't think that I could even ask that much.

Thanks for advice.

so now you have a 'high' price, and you can set a lower, more 'fair' price for yours! and everyone is happy!

...that's how to price corals!

Just keep in mind that it is in poor taste to sell something that you got for free.

You can always sell it for half of what you paid for it so you and the person wont go out loosing money.

For example

You paid 70 sell it for 35
Seriously? How is that not losing money? By my calculations and the rest of the world that's a 50% loss. :smash:

Just keep in mind that it is in poor taste to sell something that you got for free.
thirty said a bunch of corals together for a good price not free.

you also want to be careful with how some people haggle with you. There are some members who tries to low ball you until you are practically giving things away only for them to resell the same frags for a much higher price.
