Calcium Reactor and Magnesium Question

I'm running an MTC 2 chamber calcium reactor. I don't have to dose 2 part any more but I dose Mg daily. I've heard adding dolomite to 1 of the chambers help maintain or adds mg to the tank. Does any one have experience with this? Which chamber do I add it to and how much?

I use Brightwells NeoMag. Seems to work well for me. I just put in in the first chamber. You will have to determine how much to add by monitoring system.

I have the same.reactor and spoke to the owner at mtc he told.me not to run mag in the reactor it will take to long to break down and its not worth it .I dose esv mag in my system not that often though I try and keep it at 1400 .I add mag when needed after testing

Deff the first chamber, and i was also told that its a waste of time because it takes a lower ph to break down. But i used it on my Cal reactor and still dose mag.

I considered doing the same thing to supplement Mg but I also heard that it takes a lower pH to dissolve dolomite. I was just wondering though what is that lower pH? I keep my Cal reactor around 6.4 but is that too low?

I run mine at the same between 6.4 and 6.8 I guess it depends on ur call and alk demand for me keeping.it at 6.4 gives me a all of 10.2

And cal is about 430 great thing about running a cal reactor is its always balanced alk to cal which is great steady all means the world of diffrence for my tank

I dose 150 ml daily to maintain 1350. It seems crazy to me too. I've tried different test kits and get the same result. If I miss a day my mag drops under 1300. Does anyone else have this problem?

Been chasing Mg since I started an SPS ref - for me the weekly esv salt WC's has done the trick. I almost blew all my monti's out when I stared dosing up on MG. now I test that almost exclusively.

I'm no expert but if ur alk and cal aren't balanced this could give u a false mag reading when u test .also when my mag starts to drop let's say to 1300 I use esv to bump it back up let's say to 1350 I would have to dose 33 oz which is a lot I split the DOSING between 2 days then test the 3 rd day and it works out correct .i test my mag with the elos test kit .
