clean it really really really really really really good..... lolz..

if it was up to me i wouldnt because how much stuff that was alive such as bacterias, and living things that were in the sand died and rotted in that bucket... its ur call... i wouldnt do it even with all that cleaning...

You cannot clean the sand in a bucket because the height of the bucket unless you have something like me which a VERY BIG(I can step in it) flat plate. If time and water is not a concern, you may want to do it or else you run into into H2S issue. Not everyone here agree how it comes about but the result is same-it will smell.

Yup, agreed the cost is too low to justify the work. However, if you plan to make a fresh water planted tank, you can reuse it over there. The plants love what's in the old sand. Make sure you have sufficient java moss or duckweed to comsume the iniatial nutrients flux that comes from the sand.
