i had mine together for 4 months before he eat my 2 clowns. its not if its when it happens.

thats very discouraging to hear, even if the clowns are bigger than the eel? i mean not small enough for the clowns to fit in its mouth?

the eel will grow to some where between 18" and 24" he might not be big enough yet be he will. not be be discouraging but just tyring to save you the trouble in the future.
how big is your eel?/clowns? could be awhile before you have to worry...

Just separate them please its NOT worth seeing them beeing lunch for the eel. Remember all animal can always back fire on you when you least expect it. Trust me this happen to my freshwater eel and oscar not a good sight to see.

The clowns are 1.5 - 2", and the eel is about 14", I don't have pics of them together

Be aware, SFE's are NOTORIOUS for jumping ship and going carpet surfing. Without a tight cover on your tank the odds are that one day you WILL find him outside your tank. I feel very comfortable saying this is almost as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. Please get yourself a nice, tight fitting cover. You'll be glad you did.

It all depends on where you are going with the tank if its going to be fo. Or going to be reef. If you reef the eel is will start knocking your corals over as well. Just some thong else to think about.
