I've had cheato in my fuge for at least 7 months now and it hasn't grown at all. I also have mangroves it there and they seem to be doing pretty well. Is there an explanation for this? Am I doing something wrong?

there is 2 t5's over the cheato, has enough flow and the mangroves are growing like crazy, and yes your doing something wrong that 300g is 2 blocks away from where it should be lol

Try getting the chaeto higher so its closer to the water surface. It seems like not only is the light far from the water, but the chaeto is deep in the water, with some styrofoam, PVC pipe, and mangrove shading the chaeto.

I had the same problem ..it would either not grow well or die off untill I went snorkling in Hawaii where I saw chaeto as big as a sofa just tumbling around in open water with lots of fish around it....so added more flow to keep it moving/tumbling and stronger lighting and now it grows like a weed.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be my light. I have a 16w/75w par 38 750 lumens lamp as recommended on melvs. It hangs about 4 inches above the water. Within a month I had more than I knew what to do with.
