Hi All,

My ORP was running around 350-375 in May of this year, when I first established my reef. I calibrated the ORP probe not long afterwards and according to the cal it was only off by about 5. However, I got a dragon blenny about 3 weeks ago and the strangest thing has happened. Ever since I got this sand-sifting marvel, my ORP has been going up. As of last week it was about 397, was 420 late this week and today was up to 455! I didn't believe it so today I rechecked the cal - it was dead on.

Is this considered too high? I heard the higher the better, but...:Yikes: and is there some connection between my sand being turned over all the time and the high ORP or just sheer coincidence?

Thx

JT101,
My ORP runs in the low 400's most of the time. I feel anything above 350 is a good thing.

I also feel your sand sifter might be removing (eating) alge and some other matter that could be improving your water's condition.
