Yellow Tang with no fins.....

I was given a yellow tang today with no fins at all.... the person who gave it to me didnt know what they were doing :frown:

But my question is do you think that the fins will grow back and if so how long do you think it would take?

I HAVE A YELLOW TANG FOR OVER 9 YEARS AND HAS NO FINS
SO IDONT KNOW IF THEY WILL GROW BACK, BUT GOOD LUCK.:goldfish:

i dont think the top and bottom ones are going to come back, ive seen tangs live for years without a majority of their fins, they kinda look like triggers where some of them just have the little points on the top and bottom of their bodies

My friend had and still has a yellow tang for 13 years now. Never had fins, never grew back...

Dito...the person that gave you the tang what type of fish did he have in hes tank? Maybe he could have bullied/attacked by another fish.

Angelo that doesn't look like bullying by another fish. That is what happens from poor water quality an an even worse diet for the fish. This happens more than people realize I have seen quite a few fish like that over the years.

wow... poor guy.. did you see or know if any of their other fish are like that.. you are saving one.. but how about the others..? I am sorry and it might sound mean but people that does not care about their fish/corals should not be part of this hobby..

Yeah I doubt it will ever look the same as it once did, that said if you plan to keep it try and keep the water conditions right and if you don't plan on keeping it give it to someone who will take care of it by the looks of that fish it's been through hell and back.
