Well, I just recieved my endcaps and I don't know which wire goes where. The ballast has a pair of black and a pair of white. I know a white and black must go to each endcap. My question is, is there any specific place for the black one or the white one? Or are the interchangeable on each endcap? Like once both a white and black are on an endcap it doesnt matter where they go?

Thanks
Kris

What kind of ballast are you using?

All the aquarium florescent ballast I have seen have muti-colored wires and you really need a wiring diagram to wire it up. I suggest you not do this by trial and error(guessing), you won't be too happy if the end caps starts to smoke on you.

I'll let Rich give you the wiring answers since it was his ballast you have.

Those are some pics to help out with what I was asking. Don't worry guys nothing connected yet. Making sure things get done right. No more rushing.
In the two pictures the only difference is the placement of the red and white wires. Does it matter which "hole" they go into? Or is either one good?

Sorry for the confusion.

Pierce, I got everything from Rich the bulbs and ballast so everythings the same wattage. :D

FRY ...Wrong ballast.

Kris... Don't electrocute yourself. There is a wiring diagram for that ballast on the back of it. I had no idea what kind of ballast it was until I spoke to Rich today.

Icecap ballasts and endcaps have to be wired the same way as the ballast you have. The bulbs have to have a +positive and a -negative side to work. If you wire the end caps wrong you my end up shorting out the ballast, burning out the bulb or worse causing a fire.

Take a picture of the back of the ballast for me and post it and I will tell you the correct way to wire it up.

Kasei

I dont advise plugging anything in until you double check the wiring.
