switching salt?

I been using Instant Ocean salt mix in my 75 gallon tank for about a year now. I bought a 200 gallon ESV salt mix today. Any advise on switching the salt the right way? I assume doing a small 5 gallon water change to start will be fine. I don't want my fish and corals to get a bad reaction to the switch. Thanks

You'll be fine just adjust your salinity with that salt.You might to add more than the instructions says.

When I switched to esv awhile back I just did a normal 35 percent water change, but more frequently to try to get as much new esv in the tank as possible

Instant ocean has been working fine but the more my tank becomes a reef, I decided to switch. I researched alot and looks like ESV is the best salt on the market.

ESV is about 30-35% cheaper than 100$ from at least 1 vendor here. Also, IO does work fine but it is not nearly as consistent and requires more testing (and if you do not use a calc reactor, more 2 part), which in turns ends up costing more.

I don't think I ever paid more then 68 bucks for 200 gallons worth of esv. Instant ocean RC is how much? 50-55 bucks for only 160g bucket.....hmmm... I'd say esv is actually the better deal here...

I've been thinking of switching to ESV as well. Bit, I use Reef Crystals and havent spent more than $46 for the 200g box. Is it worth twice the price?
