Does anyone know why a lot of people say that feeding your fish any vegetable matter is bad for your fish? I try to read a lot before I buy a fish on how to take care and what to feed. some books say to give lettuce, broccoli, and other vegetables. I have a fox face, and some tangs, that love the romaine lettuce. I also provide a lot of dried seaweed and mys sis shrimp. any input on this would be greatly appreciated...:eat:

I feed seaweed (nori) amongst a bunch of other marine foods.;) I don't believe in feeding lettuce, and such because they are not natural foods for fish. Lettuce, broccoli, and such do not grow in the ocean.

Generally speaking, I mostly feed my salt water fish Nori, but sometimes I would also give them some zucchini and romaine lettuce. Zucchini is a wonderful supplement for people who keep freshwater tanks. This is especially true for those of us who keeps exotic plecos.
