I built my own apt and maj killing wand problem it keeps them at bay but never totally rids the tank of them.
I agree with albano .... But remember that once you run out of aptasia they will go after corals. I had to give mine up for this reason.

there is.either spend alot on 5 or 6 nudis which if taken care of will eat aiptasia but they are sensitive.you can be diligent like i am and every water change hit them with aiptasia x but you need to shut down al the pumps and squirt them and then keep the pumps off for 10 minutes.little ones are tough and the ones on the side of rocks.copperband may eat them but they are also a fish whicj is hard to keep alive and is considered a expert level fish and even then the sometimes dont make it.plus they also eat some poyped corals and clams.then there is the file fish which if you dont have SPS acans or zoas will eat them as well.

The only thing to do is get rid of all my rocks then and get new ones it seems. How is it that nothing can really be done about these pests.
Don't waste your $, replacing rocks...if there is just 1 aptasia hiding in the tank or filter...they'll be back on your 'new' rocks...
File fish are easy to remove once they've done their job...
Pep. shrimp may also eat some corals, but I have also had great success with them cleaning up a million (not actual count) aptasia in a 130g tank.

I have had peppermint shrimp eat chalices and acans (both on more than 1 occasion). I have had a filefish eat zoas.
These things are hit or miss, but I do not really think its 50/50, but that is what people claim.

Best of luck

You can try man-made rocks, don't get carried away with putting too many in the aquarium. Use a few large pieces and leave some room for the fish to swim in.
You can try Berghia Nudibranchs -You may be able to get them from members here.

You guys realize all you have to do is make some kalk paste and just cover the mojano's and aptasia with it. Problem solved. And yes, in order to get the ones that come back you need to keep ontop of kalk nuking so prepare for a weekly to monthly scan of your tank with the kalk paste.

I just nuked maybe 100 mojano's and aptasia in half of my tank and none have grown back in a week so far.

And buying new rock will do you no good. There will still be spores in the water and most likely have one or two still in your drain or return pipe or in the sump. They will just come back on your new rock.

I almost gave up. Then I got a Racoon Butterfly. Within minutes he started to clear the tank. In two weeks time not a single one was left. Only problem, the Racoon is not reef safe. But I did it anyway. No with a clean tank I am about to trade him off to someone else who needs to clean house, before giving up
