Refugium

I currently have a wet/dry minus the bio balls. I want to put a 20g - 30g tank as a refugium. Any ideas on how I can put in my cabinet? Can I just removethecenter support? Or just remove most of the water and move the tank, so I can go through the back?

Sump is 24x9 3/4x10

I don't think a 20 nor a 30 will fit the opening you have. How long has the tank been running.

My original plan was to geta 180g tank. I was just waiting for my tenant to leave. Looks like his not gonna leave anytime soon so i want to upgrade the sump to a full time refugium.

a 20 g dimensoin is 24x12x16
a 29g is 30x12x18, Ao both are feasible.

If their is a way that you can empty the tank half way and not disturb anything we might be able to slide the sum/fuge in, but it is risky.
even at half way you are looking at 375 lbs min.

i can lower the water down to 40%. What im concern is the wooden floor where its standing. if i move it just a lil bit, it might scratch the hardwood floor.

Here is a rough sketch of what you can do, without going crazy of emptying the tank or taking the center brace out.
The specs will change depending on the skimmer you get. But cant be more than a 8x platform, or a hang on back will work also.

You can... its easy to do... just go to a glass shop and have the glass cut to specs. Purchase some aquarium silicone... and go to work.

My skimmer is aqua medic turboflotor 1000. It's a hang on. Just bought that.So im not changing it anytime soon. So, when do you think you can make it? I'm excited!!!
