little big problem

my tanks stand is very short. i bought the tank second hand and got a great deal on it. however i have to make the skimmer purchase soon being i will be getting fish around dec timeframe. my sump can only handle a skimmer that can only be about 21 in tall at MOST that is also in 10 in of water and i know most run better in around 8 in or so (give or take a little) if anyone has any suggestions i am all ears. my idea was to get a smaller skimmer and make up for that with a fluval 405 canister filter. i have used this filter in the past and loved it as it is a great addition to the filtration system. my tank is a 90 gal. with 20 gal. sump so i have about 105 gal. overall in my system. my LR is about 90-100lbs or so with 2 1/2 inch sand bed.

Bubble Magus NAC6 or NAC7, either is under 21" and run best in 10-11" of water.

FWIW...your actual water volume, is probably less than 80g, in a tank that size, w/ that amount of LR and sand.
