Hello fellow reefers just a question has anyone ever experienced thier crabs or shrimps just vanishing and also dying, my sally light foot just up and died after over 2 years and my blood shrimp has vanished and my cleaner shrimp look liked it went into shock :irked: when i found him he was just twitching, but all my hermit crabs are doing fine and my arrow crab is also doing fine and i still have one lone peppermint shrimp can anyone help meeeeeee

I would test for copper. Also I would never add another Satan Lightfoot Crab to a tank. They are evil creatures who will hunt and kill your fish over time once they hit maturity.

Yeah im thinking about getting a copper test kit whats a good one and yeah I'm not sad hes gone just worried cause it just happened out of the blue also thought that chemi pure took metals out of the tank

Copper test kits I've used are api. Not sure how good they were but they worked for me. Maybe someone else can suggest one for you. Cuprisorb absorbs copper. I am sure that there are other products as well.

I've never had luck with cleaner shrimp or fire shrimp. Maybe 6 months is the most I have kept them, usually only weeks. On the other hand, I think my coral banded shrimp is immortal. I've lost track of how many years I have had it, at least 7. I agree about the sally lightfoot. they do not belong in a reef with small fish.

Yes. Have you been feeding less recently or something? If they aren't fed pretty often they can eat shrimp.

Nah same amount of food as before and the blood shrimp was in there from last year doing fine a fellow reefer said he might just be hiding he said he didn't see his for like 6 months then i t just popped out one day my only difference is that he never hides he has his cave and hes enormous wish i could get a coral bandit i love them but not reef safe and the sally light foot was also over a year old
