out of curiosity if i have a canopy on my 75 gallon tank with a 6 bulb T5 fixture in that is my water going to evaporate faster my assumed answer is yes but just want to double check
I wouldn't know since I have always had canopies. But I do know that your tank will hold more heat therefor you have to have plans on how you will vent it sufficiently so as not to over heat the tank.
well right now i just keep the doors open to the canopy and that prevents the tank from over heating. i will install fans in it as well but only if that reduces evaporation because i just came home and my return pump was already sucking air from the canopy only being on for 2 days thats way to much water to be topping off
well normally i change a little over 5 gallons a week of fresh top off water. but i had my canopy on today and i had to put like 4 big cups of water just to fill it back up so i dont have the exact measurments of the ammount of water i put back in but if i was to do that once a day for a week it would prob be equivalent to 10 gallons of water
