Hate to be late to the party, but next time, put the sand in before the water and put a bag over ala masterswimmer - works like a charm.

Didn't want to kill the live sand and the tank was the only place I had that was big enough to mix 120g of R/O water and salt. It definitely was a less than ideal decision on my part. :smash:

BTW Jim, what is that wrasse in your profile pic????

Submerge the sand in the bag unopened into the tank, cut the bag on one side and let it spill out as you draw the bag out of the tank - less ideal, but also an option.

Halichoeres trispilus About 5 years old now in my display. By far, my favorite wrasse of all time
