Going on vaca for the first time in a year and a half since my 90 gallon reef ready tank has been up and running. I have LEDs so I'm not worried about burning the tank up with heat or timer issues but I have not yet installed a dosing pump yet and I'm not sure how to deal with my daily dosing of 12 mil alk 12 mil of mag and 20 ml of calc, I use brightwell a/b and mag. Should I put the alk and mag in the auto top off pal? And then how do I deal with adding calcium? Suggestions please!
I don't really have anyone I can trust with the tank unless I pay someone also any other suggestions as far as safety measures would be helpfull.
Thx

Your tank will be fine without dosing for a week, would it be better to dose? of course... but if you don't have any other options it is not a requisite for a quick vacation. As long as your topoff situation is good and there is some food for the fish every couple of days you should be fine. Just do some tests before and after your vacation to see the effect it had and adjust future dosing accordingly.

Personally, I wouldn't add, change, or try ANYTHING new or different right before going on vacation. That comes under the heading of 'Asking For It'.
