Thought I'd share this. I changed my RODI unit in the midst of restarting my new tank and look at the residue I got from my units after 1.5 years.

Looks like someone took a crap in unit.

The other compartments where just as bad.

Use an RODI if not for your tank, do it for your health!!

Wow! RODI for the tank, and carbon filter in the fridge for drinking water.

Wow, I'm just surprised you got 1.5 years out of the filters.

I change mine every 6 months or whenever the filters turn yellowish, it has clear housing but my TDS is 350~.
