I seem to have a mixed reef that is happy and those that don't like where it's heading.

I had great coloring on my donut coral and recently started whitening? I have not touched it. feeding it as normal and tentacles come out at night. Brain has never given me a problem. Acans aren't bloating as much but I haven't really been staring at my tank past few days but the baby heads are growing and the bottom where there was die off before I got it seem to be making a move into dead spots.

I received a hollywood stunner that wasn't doing so well and had to break it off in multiple pieces to find a sweet spot and get it to grow somewhere. Two of the pieces are looking very good and look like it's beginning to grow while others are still dying off despite breaking off the spots of death.

All my SPS, 4 frags, have their polyps extended and starting to encrust which makes me think my tank is doing very well. It is always pretty much pristine water condition but I like overfeeding when I do feed which is every 3 days. in between i do flake food and seaweed for the tang and pellets for the clowns.

I personally dose 2 part 4 days after a water change about 7.5ML of part A & B. then 7th day is my water change. I just try to keep it at a happy medium. I don't monitor any parameters besides salinity. Run carbon and rowaphos, good skimmer BM 3.5+ Cone, filter sock and nice size fuge. As noted in MANY mags and readings, you really can't beat good husbandry / water changes. So I took a simple approach with good equipment and hope as my tank matures it takes care of itself really.

But back to the point. anyone have a cause of some corals flourishing and others just seem to die off?
