I feed every other day.

I shy away from supermarket foods, alot of times they add chemicals to the fish or shrimp to preserve them. Sulfates and stuff like that.

I use Rods Food, i thaw it out and usally there are some large chunks. I feed them to the anemone or my clowns feed them.

Silversides are high fats and fish oils and in theory are good for anemones but they have bones that are not digestable.

In the wild anemones dont get whole fish parts, they get chunks of free floating food. Most times its a morsal the size of your fingernail.

Splitting of an anemone is not really a good thing. They split from stress. Over feeding, crowding.

It takes alot of energy to split and they dont always survive. If an anemone grows under you care give it time it will get big.

I fed my GBTA once a week and watched it take over half of my 75 gallon tank.

It split in the weeks following Irene due to the power outage. This was great since it allowed me to remove half of the nem. Now I feed it once a month. Dont want this to take over my tank again.

I don't feed mine and it's grown from 1.5 inches to about a foot since I got it from bigdog about 9 months ago. I'm not fully convinced they really need to be fed in reef tanks if you have good lighting and nutrients in the water column. My nem has only been hosted by my clowns for about a month or two so it wasn't getting nutrients from them (feeding and pooping into it)
