I got a used acrylic tank to use as an ATO reservoir.I discovered a leak while I was going to mark the gallons on it. After about two gallons I noticed the leak. Can this be repaired? It is leaking rapid drops from where clear meets black acrylic
if you have spare acrylic strips, it would help a lot.
1)dry your tank completely. COMPLETELY! Make sure there is no moisture in the leaking area.
2)Get an acrylic solvent type glue and needle applicator.
3)Get A thin acrylic strip that runs the ID of the tank if you internal joint are smooth without bumps.
4)Apply the solvent on steady even manner on the inside of the leak edges, along the whole ID of the tank.
5)Quickly put the thin strip of acrylics at the jointing area, apply more solvent to the strip on both the black side and the clear side. This strip help to increase the surface area for leak proof.
