Oceanic salt killed my Bryopsis?

I have been battling Nasty Bryopsis outbreak for about 9 months. Lost a few frags as a result.tried about everything to rid it. Bought oceanic salt on impulse/ sale. Did one water change and noted difference in algae growth. After 2nd water change( q 2 weeks) the growth is almost gone. Im optimistic so far. Anyone have similar experience? Corals otherwise look great and show tip growth.

Oceanic is high in magnesium so its a good chance that'd what happened. Higher mg levels kill of bryopsis or however its spelled

do you test your waters par? what is mag at?

Havent checked levels yet but ive elevated mag before >1500 using tech m and 2 part mg cl and sulf...never had this effect. Will let you know

I use that salt with no problems!
