your a positive guy.my instict tells me with all that silicone he knew what ws up.also all these guys that were trying to help you this last few days might go buy something from him.i know you want to think the best but the heavy silicone tells me he knew it was broke.

stop your return pump and then drain your over flow or best thing remove your dorso pipe and let all the water drain in our sump and make it as dry as possible and then silicone fron in side or outside or consider replacing the rubber gasket and that should do it i hope it works for you and good luck

This is only a temporary fix.... The structural integrity of the tank is damaged and needs to be replaced...To solve the problem he needs a new tank.

Yea this is the new 30g rimless. I was gonna setup up a 125 soon as i move, i already have the 125 from ineed. This tank was gonna bridge me till i move and then become my coral porpagating tank. But with it damaged i lost the bridge.

Its not so much that i cant just buy a new tank. Its just that ive taken heat from land lord about water making it downstairs and blowing bulbs. I promised it wouldnt happen again and then this happens.

As for the crack it seems to run up and down the back glass behind the overflow. I cant do a temp fix and then it leaks again.

yea, a crack is a crack is a crack. don't risk it.why not just get a regular 40 or 50 breeder tank and use it as your 'bridge' tank til you set up your 125...

Maybe hard to see the cracks. There are actually 2 cracks. One above the hole and one under. The look like they rucn the same trajectory so maybe they were from the same incident.

Cause then ill have to buy another stand. Then ill have to redrill the wal for 3rd time to move leds over that one.... Etc etc. i really really like this tank.

The extent of silicone on that glass should have been a RED FLAG before you purchased it. That was obviously not a bulkhead siliconed into place.

I would replace the entire tank. Taking the tank apart and replacing it with a new pane of glass just wouldn't be worth your effort.

It was a red flag, but i was told that it was there with i thin piece of plexi glass to help support the back glass cause all the wieght of bulkhead and durso stand pipe and drain was on the back glass. I thought the guy was cool, went to his house, met his pregnant wife.... he had done some smooth transactions with the thirties.... (lol thirty 5 and thirty 6.)

I figured i was good. PLus was blindly excited.

The situation got worse! So id like some opinions here. This tank was a barebottom. Less than 30 gallons with 10 gallon sump. Had a lot of live rock but no sand anywhere. I kept this tank squeaky clean. I had it all, 100micron felt sock with a 200 micron mesh sock before it. A swc skimmer 160 which is rated for soo much more water. Brs reactor with the highest grade carbon (rox) and gfo. I would do weekly water changes of about 4 gallons. And i would syphon out all the detritus that would collect in one area. Literally all the crap was always in 2 coerners of my tank. Loved it. When the leak happened the tank was rendered disconnnected from all these filtrations. I put a few powerheads and a heater in main tank. Pointed the powerheads to surface. Next day (christmas eve) 2 chromis and a bicolor angel are dead. Water looks cloudy. Imediatly removed the remaining clowns to another tabk and used some water i had around and sump water. My gbta and rbta are fighting for their lives. I dont know what happened but i could only guesss.... Ive seen the cloudy water before.... Cyclle?

Could it be that i kept the tank too clean? And the tank depended on my filtrations vs the live rock? Could it be i never grew enough bacteria in my rck simply because the need wasnt there? And then all of a sudden i put the demands of the whole system on the rocks that werent ready?

Without seeing pics of the tank (I tried to 'search' your profile/posts but am not finding any pics) it is almost impossible to answer this in regard to how much L/R you had in there.

Can we assume you just recently set this tank up (you got it in Nov I think?). Do you have a pic of it?

I'd lean more toward lack of oxygen...even though you pointed the power heads toward the surface, without a skimmer/sump currently attached, the oxygen would be my best guess.
If you have an airpump/air stone you could get going in there, that would be helpful and like Jarrett said, some carbon...just in case something else did get into there.

There is definitely enough live rock in there - that can't be the issue.

Get an air pump & air stone.
Point only 1 power-head up at the surface and have the other create some flow in the tank - the anemones need that.

Did you have something that was turned off (like a canister type filter) that you turned back on after you took the sump off line due to the leak?

You could add back the carbon reactor - just clean it out first and then hang it on the back of the tank?

I imediately moved everything to a 20g and put my freakin skimmer and gfo/rox reactor on it as well. 80% of that water is new.

I went to petland and bought a 29g that fits my stand for $30 and am moving eveything to that soon as water finishes mixing.

I list 3 fish and anemones are still fighting for life.

Clowns dont care theystill trying to host anemine.

There wa no canister filter or anything. Simply added koralias and heater. Thought that would hold till next day. I was wrong. Dont know why.
