anyone successfully add a clownfish to existing tank

i have had my tomato clown for about 6-7 years. he shares my nano with my watchmen goby. they both have gotten along for years. i have tried 2 times to introduce a new fish and but both times the firefish was bullied to death!. so a friend of mine came over and recommened i add another tomato clown so they can pair up. will this work? or will my current tomato bully the new clown to death? anyone introduce a new clown to an existing tank with clown in it? how did u do it successfully? did they pair up?
i was told to add a smaller clown since mine is a female. all these years i thought my fish was a male! lol

I have tried adding many different species of clowns into my tank, and never had success, I was told that I would have to redo the rock work, and that was not going to happen
