So I am still trying to get my GFO BRS reactor running inside my sump. I cant get the GFO to tumble. Am I using the wrong GFO? Here is a link to the GFO that I am using from Dr. Fosters.

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=13964

Any advice offered would be much appreciated. I am using about a tablespoon of GFO with two filter sponges, one all the way on the top, the other on the bottom sitting on top of the GFO. I am using a Maxijet 1200 currently. I don't have the suction cups or bracket so I have the maxijet sitting on the bottom of the sump facing up on its back. Could the way I have the maxi jet it in the sump on its back effect weather it tumbles or not?

You have the sponge wrong.
For GFO, 2 sponges way up top, and 1 below the GFO. No sponge directly on top of the GFO.

The "GFO" you're using contains both GFO and Carbon in a bag. The BRS reactor isn't designed for that, and I wouldn't recommend mixing the GFO and carbon in the same reactor anyways.
The one you have can sit in your sump using passive flow.

Plus it was my understanding that zeolite is useless in salt water aquariums. Could be wrong been a long time since I had my fresh water tanks

I brought the gfo product off a member in an attempt to get it started rather then ordering and waiting from the BRS GFO in the mail. Was it wrong? I am not running carbon in the reactor only GFO. Also I do have a check valve on it.

Not wrong, but maybe you jumped the gun a little. As Awilda points out zeolite is useful in FW tanks..it will remove ammonia from water BUT SW causes it to release what it has absorbed..so that part is pretty much useless.

Order the BRS GFO - or another real GFO product (without any added stuff) and run that. Keep what you have in the reactor until you receive it. The stuff you have in there may not do the tumbling that regular GFO will..so don't make yourself nuts trying to get it to tumble. As Ming points out it is a product you can run passively (just water running through it).

Why do you have a check valve on it?
