What is the best sand for an aquarium??

Im gonna be changing my substrate as many of you have chimed in and helped me figure out how( and i thank you all) now im looking for the right sand to begin my journey with and im asking everyone to give me a bit of input towards the perfect sand for my reef tank.

Well i want something that doesnt disturb easliy yet its soft enou for those sand dwellers we love soo much

As skene said, it depends on your preferences.
I've tried CaribSea Seafloor SPecial grade 1-2mm, crushed coral (mixed 2-5mm) and pink fiji (less than 1mm).

I prefer seafloor grade 1-2mm because it doesn't blow around and cloud the water as easily as the sugar fine stuff. It also took less time and less effort to clear the water column after placing it into the tank.

I do not like the crushed coral size as much because it reminds me of the chunky substrate in freshwater tanks I've seen minus the loud colors.

Sometimes I think going without a sand bed in the display is the best option in terms of functionality (just leave biofiltration to the sump!) but...eh, I don't like the way it looks.

Well now i got a few brands to look at thanks, I'm not looking for the sugar fine stuff either just finer tha. This crushed aragonite I'm using now , just looks to cichlid like

Use carib fiji pink .. PersonAl pref..

I use the searflor as well. It doesnt move around as much as the fine sands do.
