Ive been using API test kits for aprox 5 years now, but Im looking to buy better kits this time around and could use some advice. The only thing I am definitely buying is the hanna phosphate checker.
I know LaMotte is probably the best but I dont have the cash for that brand.
Suggestions?
i used red sea as well.when i checked my alk with it i was getting 9.4 when i checked it with salifert i got 10.6.so who knows who to believe.but salifert comes with a solution to check true alk
Hannah Checker for phosphate, salifert for alkalinity (I find it more accurate than elos) and Elos for Calcium, Magnesium. Oh, and API for nitrates. How is the Red Sea Alkalinity test?
I still use API for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Used Elos or Salifert for ca, alk, and mg but recently tried out red sea pro and seems really easy to use. Hanna for phosphates.
API has always been on the mark for years and I've tried them all. Now I'm starting with the Hanna checkers so I'll be double checking to get correct readings.
