New to the hobby. I do water changer weekly. 10g on a 46g blow. still have a phos. problem. how can i removed it naturally? also have cheato in my sump.

Can you tell us a little more about the tank..
how many fish are in there & what kind are they?
What do you feed your fish & how often?
How long has the tank been set up?

What test kit are you using to measure your phosphates?

Do you use ro/di. Do you feed frozen food and if so do you rinse it.

might want to also invest into a reactor, phosphate sponge media or gfo.

Depending on how much PO4 you have will determine how best to go. The best way to measure PO4 is with a meter. Unfortunately PO4 is difficult to remove which is why most reefers keeping SPS use GFO. You also have to find out where your PO4 is coming from such as top off water (not using RO/Di water), overfeeding, PO4 leaching from rock in tank, etc.

You are not alone, many reefers battle with PO4.

I have a yellow tang, hippo, mandarine, watchmen, blemmy. the feeding is done by pellet in the morning and frozen at night. yes i do rinse the frozen, yes i do use ro water, i have cheato in my sump and its running about 4month. at my level are good just not the phos. my pet store did the test for me. it was 1.5 to 2.

Dont want the tang or manderin police after me but 2 tangs in a 46 even 1 tang in a 46 is to much.the manderin is also a no no fr a new system.i think yur adding way to much in a short amount of time

measure the PO4 from your RO/DI. It may be time to replace filters and/or membrane.
