I have had this flame angel for about 4 months and suddenly it has disapeared when i went away for 1 week. I had looked everywhere for it but can't find it. Its tank mates are 2 ocellaris clowns, a pink spotted watchman goby/pistol shrimp pair, a firefish, and a mandarin goby. Im suspecting my goby for the disapearing

Ah that's the worst feeling - when you can't find a fish. I always just assume the worst and say it's dead.

Do you have an overflow? I've heard stories of fish getting trapped in there quite frequently.

How big is this tank?

Ah well... be hopeful that it's still alive but it's a 34 gallon tank, and flame angels usually swim around a lot, so it should have been seen. Unless it's very shy and is hiding in very dense rockwork.

I prefer flame angels. BUT do you have corals? Because they can start nipping at corals. Some do and some don't. I was lucky to have one that didn't. And then I hear stories of flame angels wrecking havoc in other reef tanks

If it died do you think it was because i was gone for a week and it wasnt fed?

Didn't you have anyone who could watch the tank for you while you were away to feed them or do top-offs?

If you find yourself in this situation again..you might want to ask if someone can keep an eye on the tank for you, or at least loan you an automatic feeder so your fish don't have to wait a week to eat.
