Refugium lighting periods

I have a few (5-6) different varieties of algae in my fuge.change the photo period to about 16 hours starting at midnite. so far I like the results. Nice healthy growth, no algae build up and my copepod and amphipod population increased.

For as long as i've been in the hobby i've run my refugium lights 24/7.Turning the refugium lights off would be like turning off my skimmer or filters IMO and besides macro algae love light. All they want to do is grow and grow, thats what i want, in my refugium of course.

i run mine 24/7 with a stunner strip led for the last 2 years
