free MH fixture..

i just got this free DE MH fixture. it comes with sensor which i will remove. now all i need is a bulb and a ballast. a couple questions though. im not feeling the shield. it's very thich and looks like it traps in light. where can i get a shield for it? does it have to be uv shield?
it says not to go over 250w. which bulb and ballast do you guys recommend.

I'd recommend getting a pendant for aquarium use.
I wouldn't cut corners, especially electrical.

If anything, I would gut it for the reflector & socket, then mount it with a UV shield.
DE bulbs require a UV shield.

I have a Reef Optix III for $70 if you want.

It is a complete pendant with long cord, socket, reflector and plug to thats PFO, Bluewave and Hamiltons I believe.
