The cement will take to long to cure. Your pH will go through the roof during curing which takes around 8 weeks.
Another option is to drill holes in the rock and place acrylic in the holes to hold together other pieces. Not cheap or easy, but works better thn the epoxy.

Coralcrazy,

I used a combo of plastic window rods and epoxy. It worked very well. LR is easy to drill and the combo allows for great stability. It also allowed me aquascape in a way I wouldn't have been able to.

I would refrain from using concrete to bond your LR. The bond is permanent and Chris is right about the PH spike (possibly fatal to an established tank). The only way to avoid it is by pre-curing for as long as 8 weeks.

I've been trying to find thorite but without much luck. Please post if you do find some. I was going to cement my rock into four "pieces" which would fit together. This way I could remove each 1/4 of the rock if I ever had to move it.

In the video of Carls Tank, he talks about using Thorite cement to bond rocks together without a PH problem. His tank was awesome, I'm looking for some too, so I can make a rock cliff thing too. Dunno where to find it yet, I'll have to ask him.
