curing base rock

so i put all my base rock in a bin, with my old water from my water change, and a rock that was already in my tank, also have a power head and a heater in their as well. is this all i need to cure my rock? do i need to introduce ammonia like a regular cycle?

Yes you should add a pinch of food every day or 2 so the bacteria have something to eat.

i have some mysis sitting in some panty hoes, right in front of the power head. just waiting to see when i get some ammonia.
