Algae out break help!!!!

I think its algae its about 1/4 inch long all over my rocks its brown my alk is 9.0 calc 420 phosphate is. .02 all others are 0 mag might be little low. Please any ideas how to get rid of this problem. I use RC salt and do 5.5gal a week water changes tds reads 0

Sry I do the water changes every Sunday I have a 45gal cube with a 40 breeder Sump.

Im SURE you searched the forums before posting on how to get rid of algae?

I mean, I dont think the internet has any threads on this topic.

Cmon man... Turn your lights off for 3 days. Do a bunch of 25% water changes. dont feed as much. blah blah blah

turning your lights off for x number of days is only a bandaid and does not prevent algal blooms from reoccurring. The nuances of algae blooms are not a simple as "blah blah blah"

OP- what did you use to test your PO4? How old are your bulbs? Do you use RO water?

Looks like cyano which is more a bacteria than an algae. The preventive measures are the same as for algae problems. But you have a relatively small tank so you can get a head start on resolving it by:
More water changes-at least 4 gallons a week (10%) and maybe for the next week or two do it twice a week.
Use a Turkey baster to suck up and remove what you can at least once a day. Do it during the day when it is full bloom because when lights are out it really shrinks.

Read up from other threads as to what to do on an ongoing basis like eliminate over feeding.

OP- what did you use to test your PO4? How old are your bulbs? Do you use RO water?

I disagree. Turning the lights off combined with other measures, carbon, WC, chaeto, gfo, siphon, RODI, less feedings can eliminate the algae/bactria blooms with in days or a few weeks. You also need to THINK/READ/RESEARCH and find the actual cause of this. This does not normally happen to well maintained tanks by knowledgeable WELL-READ/RESEARCHED hobbyists.

Its not one thing you do that fixes it, its a total front of action to eliminate it.

And blah blah blah, this has been well documented many many times.

Add some meixcan turbo snails and if that doesn't work try a sea hare

I use rodi water tds reads 0 my bulbs are Leds like 6-8 months tops I also do water changes every week 5.5 gallons I can do more. I did read up but its always nice to find out a little tip from someone who had the same problem im sorry I asked I assumed this was the best site to ask. Tyvm all for the help I will repost in a few days to let everyone know.

I siphon sand removed cyano and added bactiv8. Added fresh carbon and ran it in reactor Seen to help....cyano. I'm running Bio pellents so I believe it came from there with a little high phosphate....

its not algae its cyano.i can see the bubbles.cyano is a tough bacteria to kill off i still stuggle every few months with outbreaks.i syphon the cyano out i dnt blow it off with a baster it will just settl somewhere else.your po4 is probably high.whats your tds coming out of the rodi

Bactiv8 made the skimmer to kick in alot of junk. I still have a little cyano because I have phosphate coming from I guess membrane of Ro /Di. I just got new one will be testing tds and be doing water changes. When I removed cyano with siphon on sand it didn't come back.
