yeah great looking piece where did you pick that up?

if you look on reeffarmers website and read some of the bios of the deepwater pieces most of them do good under mod/low light and flow but that's not to say they can't do even better under higher light if acclimated properly

Deepwater Acros for the most part still require medium to high light with high flow. The terminology is a bit of a misnomer. I have 14 bulbs and keep my Deepwater Acros up high for best color. If you were running 400 watt MH you could probably get away down low.

I generally place a coral right where I want it unless I know it came from a low lit environment before purchase. Most vendors have Acros baking under intense lighting for best colors. If the colors are brown I usually assume it was in a low light area of the holding tank and start it down low. Just remember brown corals are not always a product of low lighting, water quality effects colors to an even greater degree I believe.

That said, starting low and moving it up is never bad advice.
