Don't buy Hydor products!

I have been dealing with the Hydor company for two months now. The magnet in my power head cracked and fell apart. First I called and they said I had to fill out the forum on there website. Took a month to get a email back. Finally they said they would send me the replacement part, it's been almost two weeks still nothing! I now have corals dying which makes me very angry with this whole situation. I have been calling them all morning with no awnser, and ther buesiness hours are 8:30 to 5. So why is nobody there?

I am so fed up with this company. I will personally never buy another one of there products as long as I reef.

One phone call had a replacement impellar sent to me in 5 days. As far as the corals dying, I would have bought a replacement unit to keep my livestock healthy and worried about getting the cost credited to me after that.

As far as why they are not answering the phone, probably becuase they are located in California. 8:30 to 5 Pacific time is 11:30 to 8 EST.

The company HQ in the US is located in California - so try calling later in the day.

I will also add that they are one of the BEST companies to deal with as far as customer satisfaction. No idea why you are having such an issue with them.

Don't you keep a back up p/h? It would be a good idea for you for the future.
Many here would simply ask to borrow an extra power head from someone who lives nearby :)

If you don't have at least one back up for water movement...you won't be reefing much longer lol. Sorry had to say that.

But seriously, always have at least one back up. 20 bucks to save a few hundreds or thousands worth of stuff is worth it. To Jerls comment, Vortech +1

I have had replacement parts sent to me within 1 week, no problem. Maybe you called at the wrong time.

But I am definately upgrading to a Vortech in the near future.

Backups are always key, just in case

I got........

I got a free replacement power head from hydor, they told me just to send it in, & after 2 weeks got a new one. (it was a new one that my son got to it and broke it)

I think thay have grate products, & I will keep buying Hydor

I find this strange they are indeed a great company with extremely affordable products. Again like everyone said you SHOULD have replacements. Even if you didn't it's easy enough to pick up a used one for 10-20 bucks here on the forum pretty much any day of the week. I think blaming the company is irresponsible. They definitely should replace the part and I'm sure they will. Just try to keep your "uprising rage" at bay and be polite. I guarantee they will help you.
