Help! Reef tank looking bad

Well i just recieved chem marin pre vent. And decided to use it. I come back about 6 hours later to find my hammer retracted, xenia looking really bad, button polyps staying closed, armor of gods closed, and the birdsnest polyps looking bad. What might be the problem?

Yup and i read it was reef safe.

meaning, did u follow the right dosage for ur tank? if u dosed TOO much, u should do an immediate water change!

Don't use chemicals in your tank. Problem solved!

So these chemicals are for preventive measures against parasites and whatever? Why not just QT the fish when you buy them? Dip the corals when you buy them? Buy base rock instead of live rock? I mean, doesn't this also prevent pests without treating your entire tank with chemicals that, in your situation, are about to nuke your entire tank? I took the easy way out once too with chemicals. I killed 15k worth of stock.

Using that stuff seems like a risky and lazy way out of proper preventative measures.

Yeah it does. I recently did a water change and do anOther one soon. I really isnt worth using a 21$ chemical to mess up my 5k set up
