This is what the 180 looks like . . . .

The first few are of the new 180 with LR and BR in it.

Between the new 180 and the fuge there is 180lbs of rock - 60 of which is new LR from liveaquaria.com

This is the rock in the fuge until I start actually aquascaping . . . .

And the frag tank, with rock rubble and rubble LR

And last but not least - the sum with skimmer and filter bags

nice. I dig the cinderblock background :D

looks like it's all coming along smoothly. I like the frag tank, that's a great extra to have.

Looks good Jim. Nice and clean. Do you plan on transfering your rock from the 90 or buying new rock and keeping both tanks up?

Looks awesome, how much rock will be in there when it's all said and done??.how long did it take for the southdown to settle?i tried using it in my thirty gallon but the fish kept stirring it up and the Ph's wouldn't let it settle afterwards (i didn't know it was soooo fine).how will you keep it down??i really want to use this for the new tank, i love the color and grain size.

Jim, Looks so bare without the rest of the rock! but it does look like you got some nice shapes in there!
Looking good so far!

Jose, when you're setting up your new tank, soak the new sand with your old waterchange water from your current tank. let the bacteria coat the grains of sand and it will settle faster!

JH,

I was going for the Ghettoe look cinderbrick backgroud - the tank will have a real feel to it :) Blue fade backgroud was purchased the same day you wrote that -

Jose - I use filter bags and keep cleaning them out until it is crystal clear, took about a week cause I didn't turn off my pump either - also, between my tank upstairs and what is in the tnak now, I'll have about 350 lbs of rock, 250 of which will be live - 150 cured in main tank for over 2 years and 50 new last week from Liveaquaria to get the cycle started.

I will also be adding another 200lbs of sand probably - then I'll rearrange all the scaping and go from there. I have some more LR in my old sump that I'll likely bring over as well as some other pieces from my main tank to get it started more - pods went in this evening from my drip pad on my tank.

Iceman - the main tank upstairs will be slowly migrated into this new one and broken down and sold. My hippo tang is getting too big for the 90 ;)

Started the hood today, it will suspend from the cieling by chains and beaners so I can raise and lower where I feel necessary. More pics tomorrow with the actinics on.

Ok, I opted out of the ghetto cinder background and went with the following fade blue background - hood and actinics and one halide installed. Take a look . . . . .

Rest if the lighting in the near future, but final when the other 2 halides come over from my corner tank.

Enjoy

Kasei,

Will do, thanks for lettin me keep the card ;_)

BC, it's the standard fade blue background from Petco/petland (add your fish-store-chain here). I have always like it and have it taped to the back of the tank. I will work on the halides tomorror so I can start getting some photo period on there.

Look for that

Jim, I learned a really nice trick over the years with that background.

Tape ALL THE EDGES DOWN. especially the top one. if you just tab the corners, it really sucks when saltwater gets behind there and leaves salt trails on the glass.

Can't wait to see it in person!

Well, I finally finished the hood tonight - now all I need is the other 2 250's in my current tank to finalize the lighting. Time to start rearranging the rocks and migrating the extra rock from my corner into the new system. I will also need some serious live sand. Anyone sharing out there I could use a few hundred pounds or so :)

Time to start testing and seeing if I can put animals in there.
