Being a guinea pig is no fun:). I try not to buy brand new equipment because the best engineered product can still have issues once a normal Joe puts their hands on it.

I always have a back up plan for all of my equipment.. Never know when a piece of vital equipment is going to fail.
an that seem to be my mistake

ok after speaking with Vortech on the phone ...and I plug it back in it start to work..Thats Good News but the bad news istoday after returning home the next pump had the red light on so I shift the inside part and it start to work...I think that these pump magnets are shifting over time and stopping the pump..

but vortech is coming out with a fairly new product, pricing them just as expensive as the number one product in the market if not more expensive and are having some type of issues.
Most new products, from cars to cell phones, are most expensive upon initial release, unless of course, that release is limited.

Plus, Vortech "plans" on having features that Tunze does not offer. That alone will factor majorily into retail pricing and explain the high cost now. Once LFS and online suppliers have these pumps sitting on their shelves, you'll see a reduction in price. And by that time, an increase in reliability.

I am with House on this one. You guys should have added a Vortech, not replaced it. What happens if you decide to go back to the Tunzes? Now you have to pay for them brand new, not to mention the price cut for selling the newer pumps. That's a nice loss.

It's always nice to be in the sidelines watching the game unfold. But that being said, i'm sure ICECAP will take care of it. They have excellent customer service. Just make sure to get the kinks out now before i get one, lol.

Ok, now that's scarey. A bad batch? I thought this was the FIRST batch, post beta test units.

If Tim doesn't have spectacular customer service now, then there are more problems than just a bad driver. Stellar C/S should be the bare minimum you guys should expect. It almost seems like you're another beta test batch (paying top dollar for it though). :irked:
Gotta say, this is leaving some bad taste in my mouth already.

Customers,

We made a poor materials choice when we switched from metal drive shafts to plastic toward the end of beta prototyping. We've already sent out new drive shafts made from a better plastic for this application. If you own two pumps, you will have two parts arriving.

Included with the driveshaft is a drawing showing where to install the part. It is a very simple installation.

We appologize for any inconvienence this may have caused.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

-Tim
