DE users typically will change them after 6 months - but again, like many things in this hobby, nothing in typical.
I have 2 that are going on 9 months old and have seen no ill effects.
It also depends on how long (how many hours) you run them - if you only run them 4 hours, you'll get more lenght than if you run 8.
